Time to get the camera out againAnd spread some joy

Lovely photo. I've been attempting to get some good shots but it seems I'm not very talented at photography

    Forum Poll

The forum from my perspective. I'm a new beekeeper but someone who's been interested in it for many years. As such I believe I checked in every now and then before registering. For the past 6 or so months I think I have probably been logging in multiple times a day. I cannot deny there is a...

    Beekeepers Professions

I'm a police officer on emergency response with about 6 years in. Far too many years to go before I can retire. Formerly I worked in animal care/behaviour which my uni education was tailored to. I've always wanted to get bees and thought I best get started before it's too late. Will start with...

What did you do in the 'workshop' today

I'm frame building for the first time ever. It appears this is a task that I am incredibly slow at.

    Varrox Eddy

I got requested the dimensions of the Eddy's arm from Andermatt UK. I then made a replica of the same dimensions and have tested it by inserting it into the entrance. Even with the tilted floor it seems to fit nicely and doesn't come into direct contact with any frames. Probably not useful...

    A beekeepers christmas day

There's no need to be sorry. I equally saw many people, in the height of lockdown, not obeying any of the restrictions and not caring about the consequences.

    A beekeepers christmas day

I'm forced into public contact due to my job. As such I avoid contact with my vulnerable family members. I do lateral flow tests weekly as a minimum and certainly before see any family. I absolutely dread bringing the virus home but can't not go to work. I've tested positive twice and felt...

    A beekeepers christmas day

I'm working Xmas day all the way through to the 2nd. Getting home after long days and putting my feet up will be the plan.

    Varrox Eddy

Hypothetical question for Abelo hive owners. If you took out the inspection tray and covered the bottom of the floor (gap where tray would sit), placing the eddy in the slot the tray would he inserted, would it work? Like vaping just under the mesh floor, having sealed up the entrance whilst...

    Varrox Eddy

I only plan on having a small number of hives so may invest in one if I can find a way to make it work with the Abelo hives. I'll get thinking.

    Varrox Eddy

Did you manage to find your dimensions? I'm looking at getting one of these for a few Abelo hives but don't want to risk the expensive purchase if it doesn't fit.

    Abelo metal adjustable stand

And on this link timber sizes are mentioned and you get another look at the stand.

    Faces To Usernames

Love love love. My chickens aren't into sitting still. I'm only ever used as a platform to get to something else.

    Mead and wine making

I made home brew red wine once upon a time. The bubbling sound through the air lock was by far the most exciting part of the process. Unfortunately for me the wine wasn't the most pleasant tasting. I'll cross my fingers that your mead is better.

    Sale/Quality of foundation

Educate me here. In your opinion, what makes foundation-less frames better?

    Sale/Quality of foundation

Very keen to begin my beekeeping journey next year I have acquired, what I believe, are all of the essentials with the exception of foundation. When it comes to foundation I have a few questions (apologies if they have been answered a million times already). 1) are there vast or noticeable...
