    Quick Question for Beehaus Owners

Thanks Jim, maybe it's something I wont have to worry about - but of course, I'm expecting my bees to be the most prolific honey producers known to man... I'll see how it goes and either invest in a couple of breeze-blocks - or a few extra supers! ps - have you done an AS yet using both sides...

    Quick Question for Beehaus Owners

Hi all, just a quickie. Is it possible to use only half the beehaus brood box (ie 10 frames with the divider) but use all 4 supers across the top? not sure how this would work. Or, if you use only half the brood box - can you only usde 2 supers (can't imagine that would be enough) Thanks

    Colony split and supers added

Now that there is space in the second half of the hive, a the 4 honey jars that came with the Beehaus will be left in that section to allow the bees to fill them with honey, any excess will be drained of via the honey tap I'm going to call Omlet - they told me that I would be able to get 8...

    Colony split and supers added

So the second half of the beehaus is now empty - and you're planning on experimenting with 2...

    Brand new!

Thanks everyone!! Hi everyone! what a lovely warm welcome, thanks. Just a couple of responses: I went for the (purple) beehaus - a couple of my friends have the chicken houses and they love them; plus they look funky. I can't say there's much depth to my decision making, except its new...

    Brand new!

Thanks! I feel like I have entered a new world! I'm sure it will all be second nature after a while. I think my biggest question is how to keep my hobby to just one beehaus - ie two colonies.. I understand the concept of artificial swarming which would expand and fill the unused part of the...

    Brand new!

Hi everyone. I'm brand new to beekeeping - currently attending a beginners course (lucky enough to get to see a swarm and how to handle it within the first half hour of day one!). Hooked already - and have just ordered a Beehaus and will hopefully be up and running around July time. Looking...
