Hives all fed and strong... opened a hive that had a queen cell last week. Looks like it's a supersedure as both the old marked queen and the virgin queen were happily roaming around on the same side of a frame. Its a first for me so will be interesting to see how it pans out.

You can guess what I have done..... I have sprayed 6 of my empty supers with double the recommended strength of Certan, sealed and strapped them up. Then realised that the bottle did not go as far as I thought it would...... So have I ruined them or have they just cost me double what they...

I think I know the answer to this but double checking.... Do you spray frames with just foundation in them with cirtan before strapping them up with the empty comb frames for winter ?

I've put mine into a feeder and given back to the bees. A day or so and capping will be dry to store.

Winds now easing and all hives have survived..... Nothing else done....

Ok may be a little early yet but getting organised..... I understand theres lots of ways to make up sugar syrup... warm water / cold water etc.. how does everybody make theirs up? How long does it last when made up please before it splits or ferments? Looks like I will have expanded this...
