    Hive Building

Normally buy mine unplaned ,never seemed to have a problem with warping i think its important to stack the planks on a level surface. Dont forget a face mask when sawing or cutting Cedar is not very good for the lungs.

What did you do in the Apiary today?

Took honey frames from two hives today, wasnt until I got back to the shed that I realised that I,d forgotten to zip my hood up. I put it down to old age, lucky not to have any stings.

Tangential extractors, manual - how many frames burst?

Always a temptation to spin like mad causing the wax in the frame to bow out and eventually break. I,ve learnt by past experience start slow is best.

Plenty of pallets for free ,just use the pallet or if you are a bit more practical convert the pallets into stands.I find they last a few years.

    Angry bees!!!

If the OP is going to change the queen every time the bees have an off day it could mean a lot of new queens over the year. Best thing is to get well kitted up and check again .Sometimes if they are stroppy to just better to put the hive back together and try another day.

    Angry bees!!!

Probably they were nasty because of the bad weather or some other reason ,don't see any point in replacing the queen just yet.All hives have their off days.
