    An old trick that my dad showed me years ago ,was instead of buying plant feed fill a sack with horse manure and put it in the water butt.Just remember its there and dont use the water for washing things down.

    Over the winter we always get an assortment of thrushes Blackbirds Common Thrush ,Mistle Thrush and Field fares all on the windfall Brambly apples in the garden once the spring comes most will have moved on.

    Neighbours are so lovely

    Please don't tar all farmers with the same brush most are doing a good job ,and having to put up with the moaners who think the countryside is an idyllic place out of some comic book. There will always one or two who are bad just the same as in other things.

    One downside of having to keep the wiindows closed to maintain the heat is more houses having black mold due to a build up of moist air.Years ago when I was a boy and in the winter we had frost inside the windows it wasnt a problem, but then we had to live with the cold.

    My father has Bind Weed in his garden I have to make sure not to bring any home in pot plants it's very similar to Japanese Knot Weed in that a little bit of root soon grows and speads. Once you have it its difficult to eradicate.

    Think we have to accept what sells in Spain isn't necessarily the same as we sell in UK. There are so many sources of forage that it is hard to avoid having honey that will chrystalise at some point throughout the year. Some buy set honey some dont its a fact of life not worth making a big...

    Spine isnt too bad now still wear a brace when outside working and I,m taking things a bit easy.It's just knowing when to have a rest and not over do it.The R Chop chemo makes my back ache a bit. Thanks for asking.

    When I first started electrical work in the Royal Navy the UK standards were much higher as reguards wiring ,when we joined the EU I was amazed how low their standards were .Cable sizes were much smaller compared to ours.
