    Missing Queen

Far too early for me to pull any healthy hives to bits..even if the weather hit +15C today it is still too early for me..when them temps are a few days in a row it might be a different story but a one of nice day will not get my hive tool twitching.

    BEST spycam /field cam

That is not a bad idea about the car alarm..the hive could be placed on a pressure switch and as soon as the weight is taken of the switch have a loud siren could be rigged up to the switch..obviously only any good if someone lives in the area.

I have never had to feed mine any kind of sugar syrup in the spring time (YET)..when the time is right around the back of April to the beginning of June when the flow is on weather dependent the bees go berserk and draw and fill super at an alarming rate..last year it was touch and go whether i...

    Feeding Bees?

Now i know why the bees where in the coldest part of the hive instead of the top..a good lesson learned..i paint all my excluders a high visibility light green colour that i can spot from a good distance..that way i will never forget to remove them.

    Plant/Weed ID Please.

The place i got my from has a huge covering of them..some where in flower and some where not..i dug the smaller none flower ones up and they have more than doubled in size in just over a month in the greenhouse.

    Plant/Weed ID Please.

I dug some up a while back and they are doing well in the pots at the moment..when the weather warms up I have a nice little spot for them on some waste land near my aipery.

What did you do in the Apiary today?

For all the local mongrel bees are fairly gentle the honey making capability is nowhere near as much as the bought in Queens..if i was isolated from any other drones and i knew for certain my open mated Queens where mated from my drones it would be brilliant..sadly this is not the case.
