    when the revolution comes!!

I use bid groups on regularly repeated items - this is a feature of Auctionsniper - you set a max on any number of items and it'll keep trying until you win one (or more if you specify more) of them. You're right - some see sniping as cheating but as soon as you realise that eBay is not the...

    when the revolution comes!!

Again - why make an opening bid and then allow 7-10 days for someone to beat you - bid/snipe at the end and they cannot respond... R2 I have no connection with eBay or Auctionsniper

    varroa tray in or out?

Some of mine are in a draughty place so I leave them in but notice that the boards are blown/sucked out occasionally. Or maybe the bees all come out and move it themselves! Obviously I keep it clean - in my first winter (2011-12) I let the debris build up on one and ended up with a perfect home...

    It must be sale season...

Inherited a Paynes national and intend putting one of mine in it for over wintering as an experiment. With regards the feeder - I like the idea of gloss painting - my suggestion would be to add in some sand to the last coat for grip. I use Sandtex smooth - 2 or 3 coats by roller works...

    when the revolution comes!!

Oh, and people who put live kittens on big hooks through the neck skin and use them as live bait for shark fishing. Don't think it doesn't happen - it does! R2

    when the revolution comes!!

Asterisks in company names! "People who snipe my fleabay bid in the last 2 seconds when I've been the high bidder for 7 days" Eh? Why would you bid on an item on any auction with a fixed time limit? Logically there is absolutely zero benefit of playing your hand 7 days in advance - you're just...

    Windsor Sale

Easily done! Went to Stockbridge (straight up the 272 from Haywards Heath and turn left onto the A30) last weekend for a few more bits'n'pieces - equally good but with a burger van and home made cake! Brilliant! R2

    Winter projects

Make up some feeders - 46x46cm (for national) ply base, 8mm x 12mm ply around the base, 1/2" x 3 or 4" sides, slightly smaller dam and slide-inable barrier with slots, waterproof glue and gloss paint and a ply lid. Drill some big holes and mesh over the entrance = Ashforth feeder. Make up...
