    My Trip for Honey

Why there are no trees in the Hebrides Islands? The landskape is too melancholic, probably the Paradise for introverts.

o_O Some examples of English humor confuse me... semantically

    So true!

No more conspiracy than in the first message That's great. They keep their old language in the time of the total English popularity in the world. I've seen Welsh in Doulingo.

    So true!

If we look at the figures of cases, Chenese government seems to be the most successful. No pandemic, no lockdown, but growing economy. Interesting language. Complitely different from English. Is it still spoken?

What did you do in the Apiary today?

"as the weather outside is frightful" (but no snow) I could only listen some colonies through a tube

New member in Haute Saone France with 6 Voirnot hives and one top bar

I don't see any difference in productivity between the hives in sun and in the shade except the comfort work for a beekeeper in the shade. In my location summer is usually very warm. I fix an umbrella to a shovel and move on with that thing around the hives in sun. I have heard that EU got 40%...

    The K. I. S. S principle

It's what I did when I had 3 colonies. I inspected them 2-3 times per week without any plan. It was curiosity, and of course lack of experience and practice. It was interesting as if to open a new world or when a kid breaks his toy to see what is inside. Simplicity, which I think is good for...

Project about bees by Vilnius university students

    1. Where are you from and how long have you been a beekeeper? Ukraine, west-center. May be 8 years. 2. What kind of negative effect humans activity has on bees? All human activities that demage the environment more than it's ability to recover. Especially large-scale farming. 3. Do you think...

What did you do in the Apiary today?

Extracted sunflower more then two weeks ago. The average result is 2-3 supers of capped honey (not bad but could have been better). Today checked some hives. They filled suppers again, of course not so mush as sunflower. Hot and very dry weather causes weak nectar flow. The main plant for bees...

    Sunflower

That is soy. It has expanded for the last decade and now one of the major monocultures as livestock industry is in growth in China and some other countries. No use for bees though.

    Sunflower

Time for the main flow. Sunflower is the king (or queen) among plants. It supports the industry. Unfortunately sunflower is the only one monoculture beneficial for bees. The thin yellow line is the field near my apiary Another field near my home. Bees like it but their lifetime gets shorter...

What did you do in the Apiary today?

Bad weather almost every day: wind, rain, cold. This usually beautiful month is bad for nectar flow. I caught three swarms near my hives. Young unemployed bees are waitig for sunny hours to leave us. Many beekeepers say they don't have any drop of honey in the hives so have to feed. Mine are...

    ismail akyüz bee farm

They say "excluder", queen excluder. From what is that orange pollen? By the way, I wrote your info about the honey price in our forum, and someone said that Turkish beekeepers use feeders during the whole year :blush5: Nevertheless I think it's better than not use feeders and sell honey for...

    ismail akyüz bee farm

Great! And no maize, soy and similar stuff which occupy all the land here with unlimited pesticide usage. I wish to keep bees in the wilderness. some (a little indelicate) questions: 1. What is the average productivity per colony? 2. What is the wholesale honey price in Turkey if there is any?

Queen rearing in pesticide free apairys.

Hello Curli green finger's. I think it could be possible because I see the pesticide problem here every summer and so do almost all beekeepers for the last few years, especially when EU banned bee harmful pesticides. I think all unsold stuff could end up here. To be sure you should inspect the...

What did you do in the Apiary today?

I understand your feeling. Many professional apiaries with good equipment are ready for sale now. Mafia dropped the prices from 1,5 USD/kg to 1 USD/kg - the level when any development is impossible. People leave this country and many don't want to return. I also don't see the good future here...

What did you do in the Apiary today?

Hello. Almost the same weather is here. Bees flew yesterday and today even more. And two cleanse flights in January. Though no pollen awaliable here (Vinnytsia) yet, southern and western beekeepers report about pollen. According to the scientific definition we do not have winter because the...

Half for you and half for me.

It is in youtube now. Interesting film. Bees make honey and honey makes bees - the basic rule of beekeeping. When people replace it with greed they lost everything at the end. This is true of nature. I see how it works here amid farmland where greedy farmers grow only monocultures (soy, corn)...
