I had a swarm last Sunday. Plenty of space, clean colony, must have been a failing queen, I believe; she was from a 2012 swarm so may not have been properly mated.

I usually hand-wash the car with wax shampoo in water. Get the affected area moist then scrape the muck off with your thumbnail - doesn't scratch the car and the shampoo gets your nails clean after!
