    Does foundation matter?

Interesting. 2 comments; Firstly, the lovely capping you had in the first place don't reflect the quality of wax exchanged in the UK (by observations and the fact that anyone making candles is going to use capping for that); Secondly, with scale up the time of exposure to >100C is going to...

    Further food fraud

Saffron is a big target for adulteration as its so expensive. Cant see the point of cutting oregano as its cheap as. might as well make the crime worth its while ;)

    Does foundation matter?

try heating wax upto 150C for making candles and see the difference between that and and candles made at the recommended temperature of 58 to 74C (from my wax melting thermometer). BP, I think you might mean 150F ca 65C to avoid any nasty incidences with wax ;)

    Asian Hornet APP

And this post demonstrates the naivety of your knowledge as; a) using FC approach requires deliberate release of non native species if formulated into an official treatment - see #340 b) Fipronil when formulated into the custard needs to be used immediately as is inactivated in the presence of...

Update from the wonderful Dr Samuel Ramsay

Ironically Michael instant gratification and using the means to obtaining it are one of the UK societies attitudes imported from exposure to US culture IMO
