    Wasps

Yes, I once saw an article that suggested we'd be 9 metres deep in caterpillars if all the wasps went. I assumed (hoped) it was a typo :laughing-smiley-014

    Wasps

Here's the Natural History Museum's take on wasps. https://www.nhm.ac.uk/discover/what-do-wasps-do.html The article says that social wasps (the type we usually refer to) consume approx. 14 million kilos of caterpillars and other pests such as spiders, flies etc per year.

    Buying a table saw

I quite like Einhell as a brand. This would be an example Einhell TC-TS 2225 U Table Saw 254mm with Stand 4006825641349 | eBay But if you really want a cabinet saw have you considered second hand? I realise this one is a bit far for you to collect from but there's things like this Panel Saw...

Is burying wax alternative to incinerator?

The wax exchanges run by the bigger manufacturers (Thornes / Maisemores etc) don't seem to be too picky as to what the wax looks like. A member of our association took in some that was khaki in colour and Thornes were quite happy to exchange it for new foundation.

Is burying wax alternative to incinerator?

An old clock works powered rotation so it follows the sun?

    Recommendations for seed suppliers.

Okay so they're plastic but my local garden centre imports lots of seedlings in the spring in 3 inch pots when he pots them on he gives away the now redundant pots and compartmented plug plant trays to the locals for their growing. You just need to make sure you wash them first.

Latest snake-oil varroa treatment pretending not to be a varroa treatment

A little point, but in the photo it also doesn't have the current hazardous warning sign on it. The Black cross on a orange square is the old one, which went out of use at least 5 years ago.

    Plans for planting

Good luck with your quest, I suspect if the pickling process doesn't kill the seeds then the canning process will. https://www.epicurious.com/expert-advice/how-to-can-pickles-weekend-warrior-article The wiki article about Peppadews says the peppers used in the jars are de-seeded so the ones...

School Children Visits to an Apiary

If you look on the BBKA website under 'junior beekeeping' there's loads of stuff including a model risk assessment in the section that talks about schools keeping bees, you might be able to modify it. There's also a section about schools visiting the BBKA with a projected timetable. You should...

    Hive Monitor

Unfortunately most hive monitoring companies come along with their latest setup, you can measure the temperature in the hive, the weight, maybe a camera inside to monitor the bees and all controlled by an app on your phone. The systems may work but the market or the marketing is limited and the...

    Selling candles legally

The labels may seem pointless, and common sense but if you include them with your product and someone burns their house down with one of your candles your product liability insurance will cover you. If you don't include the label the same insurance company will say "Us, sir, whatever gave you...

Newby Looking for help in southern spain

Hi Martin, you may find there's a requirement to register your hives and or apiary with your local mayors office. I'm told the DeLayens hive is a popular model in Spain.

    Skip diving 2024

Looks like some sort of crimping tool but could just a easily be a door knocker, I bet that's what it's been used for recently.

    NHS - Poor Cost Control

The first time I had pooh sticks I failed the test so had the clean out drink (not fun) followed by the internal examination, I didn't need a DVD as mentioned earlier as the screen in my particular hospital was set up in such a way that you could view the examination while in progress which was...

    Cadburys what a disappointment

Didn't the film Pulp Fiction answer that though? Two of the characters are talking about the differences between the USA and Europe and one says the Quarter Pounder isn't called that in Paris as the frogs don't know what a Quarter pound is so it's called a "Royale With Cheese". So when the name...

Keeping bees on roofs in London

The only concern and it is a very small one might be roof loading depending on the underlying construction of the roof.

    MeliBio "honey"

The only problem is the webpage about 'Honea' says "Original Honea is a bee-free vegan honey" which of course it isn't as it lists 'Apple Juice' and 'Lemon Juice' as two of the ingredients and unless my garden skills are suspect don't both of those require pollination by bees for the tree to...

    Queen Rearing Advice

The Welsh Beekeepers Association may also have booklets that are useful to you. WBKA Publications – Welsh Beekeepers' Association no need to send off for them just download as PDF no need to be a member either although I'm sure a small donation would be appreciated if you want.

    BFA membership

Just out of interest does membership of the bee farmers include those that produce large quantities of other things like Nucs, or hive products such as wax or pollen? I guess the majority are honey farmers though.
