    Lesser celandine or Pilewort, in bloom around here now. A member of the buttercup family. Cherry trees on the go too. Have no idea what type they are.

    She's a beauty. Have you had an opportunity to test it or a similar one? I tried black felt on some nucs I made but found they cooked in the summer sun. I may paint the rooves white or switch to outdoor paint in place of the felt.

    Wife did the lawns in our back and front gardens today, using our push mower.

    Hive survival over winter

    I'm one of those over eager itchy fiddlers. Thankfully, I've held back and only added more fondant to colonies that heft light. So far, all 7 of my colonies are alive. They've been bringing in plenty of pollen since mid-Jan, so I'm hoping for plenty of brood when nectar starts flowing.
