    Renewing/replacing comb without waste.

I've saved a lot more frames since the price hike, I used DN5's but can't justify the extra cost any more so I'll keep reusing the ones I have until they are totally useless.

What's flowering as forage in your area

    Probably Himalayan Balsam,

    Exxon Mobil

    No, just wishful thinking. ;)

    New vaper convert confusion

Be aware that some bees might require a lot more than four rounds, mite farms ;)

What did you do in the Apiary today?

Extracting today and allowed myself to get distracted as the Peregrines were back :)

    honey price update

Sell them at the same price and let them apply their own mark up. You don't have a large supply so marking your jars down simply because you are supplying a shop is effectively giving your honey away. A local beefarmer is supplying 8oz jars at less than three quid and it is marked up to £5.50 at...

    Paynes, closing?!

They were a bit soft as well, mine had the entrances enlarged ;)

What did you do in the Apiary today?

A day collecting the last of the supers and what a beautiful day. It started well as I had a treat overhead as I was loading the vehicle with a pair of Peregrine falcons shrieking and performing aerobatics, what a sight. I arrived at the farm to a Red Kite circling above the farmhouse and joined...

What did you do in the Apiary today?

Clearer boards under the last supers, it started raining :( Lots of bees on Balsam and a fair amount of Ivy pollen coming in and another season comes to an end.

    Apivar and OA vaping

Yes but do we have any hard evidence such as published figures collected from a few years of study?

What's flowering as forage in your area

Been out here for over a week.

What did you do in the Apiary today?

Kind of defeated the object of clearing them. ;)

    Clearing Bees from Supers

If it were that bad we would probably wait for a better time to remove supers. I don't know about others but I generally look for a nice spell to do my honey pull, been caught out a couple of times over the years but not that often. ;)

    honey price update

That's just it, Ceri. There were a good supply of regular customers who used to bore the butchers with the fineries of local honey and looked forward to the honey turning up as much as their Sunday joint, the new honey jars were languishing on the shelf, obviously not going that well. Half our...

    Lack of wasps

Often see bees on the blackberries around here.

    honey price update

Similar thing happened to me, unfortunately the jar size was the same. We explained that there was no way we were prepared to 'give our honey away' so we no longer supply and they no longer get a substantial monthly meat order.

    Clearing Bees from Supers

Just like any other supers placed above clearer boards, they are isolated, make sure there are no gaps or holes and tape them up if there are.
  18. Swarm

    Clearing Bees from Supers

If you are short on clearer boards, you can move supers from one hive to be cleared over another hive and even these bees find their way home.

    What happened to sulphur strips?

Wax moth treatment in stored supers.

What did you do in the Apiary today?

Yes it does, no they don't.
