    The season isn't over yet

You would say that, if I have less honey to sell where could my potential customers possibly source some honey from ;):p On a serious note, yes, I think i will stick to plan A which is treatment now.

    Adding a supplement

After reading the replies here and having a read of the recipe thread, I think I will start adding a supplement of thymol in lecethin. I am guessing i will find these on ebay. Every day is a school day.

    The season isn't over yet

Hi Eric, Maybe I should put some supers back on then. I had left them off as I was about to start treatments. A little concerned I will miss the cycle window if I put supers back on though to be honest.

    Adding a supplement

Conversely, I do not see the need to add anything and similarly, see no ill effects. I recently attended a lecture by the chap that runs 'The Apirarist' (his name eludes me at the moment) and he suggests just a block of regular bakers fondant.

What did you do in the Apiary today?

Jarred up 75lb + packaged 8lb of cut comb. Labelled most of the jars and shipped some out to the local shop. Been a busy couple of days around work!

    Cappings bucket

Ebay is great for stuff like that. I often use Simon the beekeeper via ebay as he often works out cheaper that way if you are only buying the odd bit.

Views on this extractor for my expected future needs

You both make a good point. I currently only extract supers but added versatility may prove useful in future. Radial does have the advantage of not having to switch half way too. Hmm decisions decisions.

    Colur of honey.

All the honey I had from the same apiary is the same and I split it super by super. I was a bit disappointed to be honest. It is a nice, light honey though and I received a lot of compliments last year, will see if it sells as well this year - which is the real test ! The honey I got from my...

    Cappings bucket

Nice one E&M. I think I might make one for my cappings. Like some others I use an uncapping tray but this would take up less space to leave draining and can have a lid on which keeps it neat and tidy.

Views on this extractor for my expected future needs

Hi All, I have currently been borrowing an extractor from my local BKA, which is obviously very economical but does have some down sides. Basically I have decided that I think it would be best to get my own extractor in time for next season. I currently have 4 productive hives (plus a couple...

What did you do in the Apiary today?

Woke up at 4am due to the wind, so got up and inspected all my hives were still where i left them. Happy to report, all hives are still in place with no roof's missing etc!

    Insulation material

I have (quite a lot) of wool insulation blocks that I have no use for. I presume I could use these. My question is how do I seal it as it is 'loose' but compressed blocks. Do I just rely on the crownboard being sealed?

Buoyant roadside honey sales since lockdown

Like most suppliers, he is good (cheap) for some things but not all. I found his rhombus bee escapes were quite cheap also (as i don't have to worry about postage).

Buoyant roadside honey sales since lockdown

If you are happy to pick them up , you can get 12oz hex for 40p a jar from a supplier in Bridgwater. No min order i believe - but i buy by the box anyway. The jars from him are compak jars - not had a problem with them.

What to look for in an out apiary

I got approached to put hives on a couple of sites, these sites were allotments, it may be worth making contact with any local allotment site to see if they have bees already and if not, would they like some. Cost wise, one site charges me £10 a year (which I couldn't be bothered to argue...

2020 - is the consensus that its a bad year for beeks ?

Unsurprisingly, I have found the same as Enrico. Better than last year for sure for me.
