    Clover types... question

    Great Plant, dairy cattle enjoy it too.... We include 8% Dutch White clover (Repens) in all our pasture mixes here.... Does very well under our conditions...

    Have been meaning to collect a sample for a Cape Town University, they are wanting to do various tests to check for any genetic variances if any... Several pics have been sent to a local professor there, Ive been told that what I have is much darker than what they have seen in the past...

    Thanks for reply Swarm / Steve. Do you find the darker colonies tougher or better honey producers than the usual or typical bloodlines? Here, I find them masters at drawing comb and the ability to explode is size fast.... Really hard workers, when other colonies are bringing in yellow pollen...

    Ran into these two naughty youngsters today whilst doing the rounds.. (Young bull and cow) Must have broken out from one of the farms close bye.. Ok when young but very "cranky" once they grow up... Fortunately no foot traffic here,,, well, no legal foot traffic anyway.....

    Todays Bee work.. Nice large one. (still 3 removals on the list) Very unusual structure below, fallen comb linked together forming tunnels and caves.... Always something new...

    For day to day work on hives the hat works great for me.... However, doing cutouts, removals and having to look up - I wish I had the fencing type....

    Preparing for an emergency cut out in ceiling.... (Staff House) Bees moved in +- 3 weeks ago and were well behaved.... No Harm = No foul! However, gardener getting stung, new baby just born, puppy, ,,,, and worried about using front door as very close to colony entrance... Apparently anyone...

    Fascinating,,,, thank you for sharing... A few years ago several folks were experiencing problems with misbehaving young elephants up country. (Youngsters had been removed/captured from culled herds) These had been purchased for private game farms and reserves etc etc... Turns out Everyone...

    I can see the thinner wire working.... Can picture the poor guy pacing for hours in a circle underneath..... I believe it would take days before the Badger will give up... A kot of factors to take into account in places like Tanzania.... (depending where of course) Elephants will also give...

    Shooo, wasn't aware you guys had badgers in the UK (Excuse my ignorance) We have the Honey Badger here,,,, if he/she finds bee hives.... It's all over.... Really smart and aggressive buggers that will tear a box to pieces... No fear what so ever...

    Another swarm caught.... 3rd swarm this season caught inside this broken down shed... 3 swarms also caught on the roof directly above.... Also this season Old Asbestos roofs seem to be very popular... Especially when they used to house a "Mammoth" old colony... 6 swarms one building....
