Yes we made this nuc up in the end of April that's why we were checking on her.

They've drawn the middle frame and made a start on the second frame.

I'm interested in using this style of beekeeping. What swarm control method do you use with it?

Unfortunately I don't have capped brood on a mini nuc frame. My plan was to leave her 21 days after I saw eggs then make up a full sized nuc with her. I can make the nuc early, was just wondering if anyone had experience of this and knew if the queen was viable or not.

Kim checked our mating nuc today. Queen still there however no eggs or brood at all! So has she failed? There were eggs in there on the 12th so should be seeing capped brood now. Or is the fact that the weather has been so bad she's just stopped laying. Problem is she's running out of...

Running out of feeders so ordered the ones from bee equipment that fit inside the crown board but baulked at the price of their multifunction crownboards. So pallet wood to the rescue again.

Called out last night to a tiny swarm. They must have been desperate to leave in yesterday's weather.

I'm feeding now. My hives are empty of stores so have put feeders on all of them and feeding light syrup. They're taking in about 5l of syrup every 2 days at the moment.

Just got back from the apiary. Supers all off. Have put the demaree colonies back together with the empty box ok the bottom and feeders on all the colonies. Hopefully it's just for this next ten days and then the weather will break.

Kim checked one of our apideas this morning and found this beauty in there. We're hoping the multiple eggs is just her getting settled down. Happy with this. First time I've had success harvesting cells.

Popped by one of my bait hive sites on the way to the shop this evening. Looks promising anyway. I didn't have any kit with me to check so will have to look later.
