    Just bought a 12.5 kilo pack from Gwenyn for 19 quid. Postage was about 7.50. Arrived next day. Can't see the fondant for the bees.

    Advice gratefully accepted.

    My first swarm came with one plastic foundation sheet , untreated. They would not touch it and built comb away from the foundation , making inspection extremely difficult. Removed it at the start of this season. It doesn't even clean up well. Binned it.

    Same here, got two seperate beds. One is fine. I used some seeds I was given, a dwarf vareity it turns out. I don't like dwarf varieties of anything except humans.

    First swarm call of the year.

    You are not kidding, got sent to a swarm but it was too high up for inexperienced me (15 foot up a yew tree) The heat coming from the cluster was incredible !
