    Passionate Beekeeper looking for work

I ended up having to do 3 months agency work a few years ago and you are completely disposable. Shift work for minimum wage, over 50% from Poland. The management of these companies were appallingly useless. They don't work harder, they just put up with more **** , poor pay and conditions because...

    Thymol

No I made some up and it lasts for ages.

I'm not sure how much Thymol would be harmful. I had a jar of honey from an apiguard treated hive and it had a slightly antiseptic taste. I quite liked the taste and apart from the antennae on top of my head no ill effects. We put it in all sorts of things, toothpaste being an example

    Last year as a noob.

Actually my third year but I seem to have learned more this year. If you could only bottle hindsight !

    Last year as a noob.

Been a steep learning curve this year but not too painful. As those more experienced than me have said, could have had a lot more if I had stopped them swarming. Bought a second hand, barely used Unimel 3 frame extactor and thornes heated uncapper from a guy for £200. They both work really well...

We will survive, currently binging Mad Max films and the Walking Dead , just to stay ahead of the curve.

My colonies certainly do them in. Found propolised larvae !

Is supermarket honey not real honey then?

I live in a village on the edge of Trowvegas. Pretty much every other person in town is morbidly obese, the rest are overweight. I'm watching people in their thirties waddling, holding hands with their obese children. Mobility scooter capital of the UK. It' a time bomb ticking right under our noses.

    Exxon Mobil

This was a computer modelling done in the 70s using up to date equipment and data for the time. They did it again recently using up to date everything and the answer was the same 2040 ! On our societies current trajectory that would seem to be about right, everything falls apart around 2040.

    Apivar

I just bought a second hand unimel extractor from a guy who is mentored by a Ukranian. He showed me the Ukranian version of the instavap. I should have taken a pic of it , cobbled together from bits and pieces. Looked like a dystopian sci fi weapon !

Have you seen what they sell as ham ? They get away with a lot. Supermarkets and the oil companies ARE the cost of living crisis.

Scientific research has proven 2040 to be the "Oh well, we had a good run as a species " moment.

Two years in and wondering what has gone wrong!

I was not that bothered about being stung to be honest.....................................until I put some fondant on earlier on in the year. Did it a few times without the suit but one hive was not happy and I had about 10/15 stings all at once. Some on my hands, I play guitar and had a week...

Things you never knew you needed...

It is getting ridiculous. Herbal vaporiser that can only be controlled by a phone app. I play guitar and saw a really good Marshall amp for sale .........controlled by a phone app. NO !

    eBay

The last straw for me was two things in one week. I stated quite clearly that postage must be tracked or signed for, no other options. Guy from Spain bought something then said he did not want to pay the postage cost. Ebay cancelled the order without even contacting me. Then the same week I had...

The latest panic attack from the press - AFB, the apian form of Anthrax!!

The 'silly season' lasts all year round now! The Telegraph is now the Express for people that can do joined up writing.

    Hagens Bees

I went to buy a guitar strap priced at £1. The guy started doing exactly this. I told him it would cost him £5 for my details. He lost a £1 !

    eBay

I stopped selling on ebay a few years ago as a result of fraudulent buyers and Ebays complete lack of concern about vendors getting ripped off. They seem to side with the buyer most of the time .
