    Gwenyn Gruffydd Welsh black bees

Maby so, dna test would be a good answer for you..... it won't say buckfast on any of them though as its not a species 😬

Because that was the point of the pheno type, it never breeds true obviously because its just a mix of subspecies so I don't get why people even call them buckfasts, they are not bred there, they are not what the creator sought in the pheno type. No I'd say its because you can't reliably breed...

They where not amm then though, they evolved hear to amm after melenia of natural selection to survive our climate. No it seems that was propaganda most likley from the people selling foreign bees lol. There's still plus 99% pure amm bees hear in the uk and Ireland. I dont know it definatly had...

Maby they are the dark buckfast that are chasing you around 😬

True enough with the royalys, but honeybees survived and evolved as amm in the uk for more than a melenia without other subspecies imported so I don't think we need to add to the gene pool really.

Errrrrrr brother Adam was trying to create a stable pheno type, he had many failures along the way resulting in many different colours and traits that come with mixing subspecies. Would still love to see these black buckfasts you talk about though? No quite the opposite, the people at buckfast...

    Gwenyn Gruffydd Welsh black bees

Since brother Adam started mixing subspecies to create a stable pheno type and called it the buckfast bee? Or if your referring to the modern beekeepers at buckfast abby you'd be correct in saying they don't breed foreign subspecies these days, they breed local bees from what they already have...

Na mine are locally bred black bees 😜. Never seen black buckfast bees though, wonder how they are called buckfast or are people just calling all mongrels buckfast these days?

So where did the genetics come from? British legustica?

    Gwenyn Gruffydd Welsh black bees

How would their genetics not be imported? When I said said I'd ban honey bee imports I should have clarified with including all honey bee genetics. The only subspecies of bee that evolved to live hear is AMM is it not?

My black bees don't chase me and are more productive than my less black bees 🤗

Yea but he keeps afew buckfast colonys, hopefully not close enough to **** up the Welsh black mating he buys in. I love watching his videos on YouTube but i hate that he uses and sells buckfast.

    Gwenyn Gruffydd Welsh black bees

Hopefully they are not close enough to mix with the buckfast bees he breeds

    Vevor extractors

I'm glad you said that! I only had 4 frames to exactract (wanted to test it out and they where half set) so didn't go to high. And that explains the single loose ball bearing I found haha ! Enjoy yours to thanks again

    Vevor extractors

I've got the same one and found the national super frames didn't fit right, ill give that a try thanks very much!

    Vevor extractors

How many frames did you get in the 3 frame version sorry?
  19. R

    Vevor extractors

I've just bought the same one last week for the same reason, seems to do the job well enough. Quality isn't amazing but for the little I have to do its more than adequate. I will say the basket dosnt hold natinoal super frames great, I think it's more for larger frames (mine the edges touched...

I bought alot of organic open mated seeds and some heirloom varieties to try and save but I went abit mad on seeds so I'll probably not bother saving to much haha.
