This spatula from Abelo is very useful for getting the last honey out of buckets. https://www.abelo.co.uk/shop/honey-processing/honey-scraper-plastic/ Aliexpress do them cheaper but food grade status unknown.

Would a cheese wire Heath Robinson device work for you and the fondant?

I get mine from here Oxalic Acid Crystals but they are less than 10 minutes away

    Cold sweat with EFB

Hope it's negative for efb. I'd assumed all the inspectors would be part of the Asian Hornet response and not have time for hive inspections.

    Managing uncapped frames in supers

A farm shop I supply has the honey shelf next to a freezer and my softset did the same last August when it was 35°+C and the freezer was working overtime to maintain temperature.

    The National Uncapper

I'm not a patent attorney but I doubt a UK copy of a US product would get a patent. The US version is 5+ years old and other slit uncappers are available. The US version has come up before Post in thread 'Which Honey Extractor - Abelo (Lyson) or Konigin?' Which Honey Extractor - Abelo (Lyson) or...

    Bee book recommendation

Excellent read, though I do like Andrey Kurkov's other novels.

    The National Uncapper

An attractive alternative option would be being able to place it on an existing uncapping tank. Although worth noting that Murray McGregor is constantly moaning UK beekeepers demanding slight modifications to suit their niche operation which results in what started as a simple product being...

Washing soda is the normal propolis cleaner. But aluminium - I thought that was discouraged?

    This year's honey price

With wanting to sell surplus stocks of honey one factor in my thinking is that my storage space is finite. On jar prices, isn't part of the decision between whether you run on an historical cost or current cost basis?

    mini breakfast jars

How do you fill them? I have been asked to supply 2oz jars(possibly less) for a friend's wedding next summer and was thinking that a standard honey gate may be too blunt a tool for the job. Would warm honey in a jug work? IIRC this has come up before and I can dimly recall Pete Little suggesting...

    What colour is Hawthorne honey?

So is mine when it's set, looks like this When 1st extracted, it's similar to the French hawthorn above. The smell splits the family, I find it great alongside a strong cheddar.

    Hives at Warwick Castle

At Warwick Castle, right next to the path used by 100s of people every day from the car park to the entrance. Didn't see àny Warwick Castle honey on sale or any honeybees on the abundant rhododendron although it was a cool 15°c on the day of my visit.

    What colour is Hawthorne honey?

I've seen hawthorn honey (miel d'aubepeine) on sale in France. Looks quite dark to me, similar hue to dandelion.

Moving a hive to another apiary

They'll need a travelling screen rather than the normal roof otherwise they will overheat very quickly, even with a mesh floor.

    OSR going over!

Similar here in SE Worcestershire. Hawthorn, horse chestnut and last of apple still giving a good flow though.

Nectar flow during long dry spell

Yes, and the honey flow was exceptional in my region last year from late June to late July, mostly deep rooted bramble I guess.
