Hi, I got our grandkids a bee suit each from STB closing down sale, great value at £2 each. Worth a look to see if they have any left.

Spent yesterday and today preparing 2 hive’s for, hopefully, an increase of 2 new colonies this year. Small scale stuff I know compared to most of the forum members but going from 1 to 3 hive’s feels like the right move for a novice hobby beekeeper. I have had long covid for the past 2 years...

I’ve learned so much from this forum, but never imagined that would include recognition of a naked bee. Everyday’s a school day, thankful to have knowledgeable and experienced beekeepers to help me :)

This afternoon I decided to do some prep with a view to vaping following this cold snap. To check for natural varroa drop I put a new piece of correx under my OMF then decided to take out OMF to clear away any dead bees. When replacing it I was shocked to see a critter drop onto the correx...

Planted some snowdrop and crocus bulbs around the bee yard. Then just enjoyed sitting watching the bee’s busy foraging on the ivy and bringing it home to the hive. Can’t believe this mild weather we are having at the moment in the north lakes, Cumbria, exceptionally unusual. Hope we don’t suffer...
