    Honey price

Wouldn't disagree Ian I have no experience of selling round you. just seeing it in print is eye opening. In Surrey with its close proximity to the big smoke I could perhaps understand it. Just curious how he handles his harvest. I'd automate with the first years rewards for sure.

    Honey price

Looks on par with what I'm getting although as I'm not a Big Boy player, I don't sell in barrels for a slightly less price per lb.

Is this the best extractor EVER ?

Some are some arn't Phil. You can't really expect much from the cheap end of the market after a couple of hard years extracting. Definately a buy once cry once purchase.

    Incubator for Queen Rearing

Looks like the parts bill comes to £70 plus my lack of electrickery skills means I'd be better offer buying one but thanks for the heads up.

    Incubator for Queen Rearing

Done a search of the forum that has proved inconclusive. I'm going to try QR next year and am starting to pull my kit together. I was looking to buy an incubator, nothing massive but good enough to put my sealed QC's in. Seen a few YouTooobe vids who say even Brainsea temp control is not as...

Wax moth are rampant this year

The reason Mrs H is "sensitive" is we built an extension with a loft, where I store a lot of bee kit eg extractor, settling tank, wax melter etc. Well, I'd melted some wax, cleaned out the SS cyl as best I could and returned it to the loft directly above Mrs H's WFH location. Unappreciated...

Wax moth are rampant this year

Don't forget the wax moth and the bee in a natural colony is a symbiotic relationship, living in the bottom of the hollow in the tree. We only get excited because of the damage they do to our comb.

mervyn shute hallo all. i live in newquay

Yes Dani, I went national because I joined a bee club and fell under the BBKA tryst of only nationals are best and I cant get on with them. As I'd bought a fair bit of kit when I realised, the cheapest way to convert was to go commercial BB's as they have the same "footprint" as nationals and I...

Wax moth are rampant this year

Luckily James, for the beek the kit is kept under cover and not subject to rain or watering by the farmer and so I'm concluding, the sprayed solution in effect lays dormant until ingested by the wax moth. From the Provender Nurseries website: When a caterpillar eats the treated leaves [read...

    Honey price

I charge £7/lb no matter what configuration I sell it. I reckon I could sell it for more but with beeks selling cheaper locally its a struggle. By the 30lb bucket its £3.50 min for OSR, more for hedgerow honey
