    Working from home certainly helps I have to agree. I haven't increased my numbers but easily could rather, I've focused on consolidating and improving my skills.

    Take notes of kit/needs etc of each hive. not war 'n peace......... notes!!! check only centre 5 frames watch out for honey bridge carry some spare kit with you make a plan

    How many "mouths" is a hive loosing daily as it reduces down to the circa 10k winter bee's? This is a nuc and to reduce cross infection, uniting was suggested. That to me is sound advice

    @echidna natural mite drop is the most ineffective method to determine mite load of a hive. ideally, alcohol wash or sugar roll is best.

    Good idea to have your jar sent off for testing. Did they say how long it would take?? Its a real shame and you were getting all excited over your green honey, that is now not green at all :rolleyes::rolleyes:. Just to keep it factual, F&H when you take in their free carriage over £50 spent...

    Nah! no need what with bent prop shafts and busted engines why would he? The T o s s e r needs an aircraft carrier or two so doesn't need them crackling when the Geiger counter comes close.

    You're looking at this in the wrong way. The only important factor is the mite drop. The NBU say 10 mites and below per day drop is within limits whereas above 30 mites per day drop you should treat. So if you count weekly, then a 70 mite drop in a week is acceptable [70 / 7 = 10/day...
