Quickest safe way to make sugar water

It's crude but it works, small pump used for mixing syrup by keeping everything moving. Add water then keep adding sugar steady so not to block the pump.

    Cpc

Serious waste of time, day 1 was informative the the rest we so repetitive it was unreal. I really hoped I would learn something from it but alas I didn't. The idea is good some where but the content and delivery is extremely poor. And not all eu members have opted in so are they now allied...

    BBKA or BFA

It's not a hard thing to do and can be obtained within two years. I am quite sure once joined you might frequent a little more.

BDI can be joined separately I believe. http://www.beediseasesinsurance.co.uk/becoming-a-member

    BBKA or BFA

I was thinking more along the lines of public liability, and not the BDI scheme.

    BBKA or BFA

I think the bbka only insure up to 40 colonies. Your profile suggests 50+ I have just joined the BFA as I have 40 at the moment and they are for the more commercial beekeeper. Have a look at the contact details on their website and give them a ring for more details.

    Sugar at great price.

It's indoors now, makes it rather hard to deal with if it gets wet. I would need to take a hammer to it before I could get the shovel in.

    Sugar at great price.

It's more of a pointer, use your heads and look further then a super market or cash and carry for your supply of sugar.

    Sugar at great price.

Sugar in these quantities can be difficult to get at times and supply is a little up and down and can't always be guaranteed. Hence I won't be shearing my source of the sugar, it is cheap though and can be got for a considerable discount.

Opinions - best vehicle for Beeks?

This one was cheap enough, ex MOD spent some time in the Falklands and came with real bullets under the seats. They can be dear but if you have a few spanners a hammer and welder if will last more than a life time. Wouldn't have any other rover though, as the build quality would get to me at...

Correct tyre choice makes all the difference, you can have the best 4x4 going but fit the wrong tyres for your intended use and you won't go anywhere.

Opinions - best vehicle for Beeks?

Around 30 to 35 mpg. Td5 double cab with the floor levelled out. Provides a nice dry ish stow away place for smaller bits. The roof rack was designed to take 12 hives. It's ok in the spring when moving to osr etc but much later they are to heavy to put up their. Then it's a trailer all the...

looking to go to bigger brood

You could very easily go for langstroth hives if you want them bigger but not as big as 14x12 or commercials. National frames fit nicely with top and side bars to convert the frames.

No fun being a bee farmer

I have thought about this quite a bit when selling bees to new beekeepers locally. I decided it wasn't a great idea in the end as I am devaluing my own product as they won't have the over heads that I do. Perhaps most will only have two or three hives but they still eat into the forage and...
