Yes, exactly this. I much prefer the idea of the two storey method with queen excluder. I watched Chris drum to allow him to remove some honey. He made it look very easy 😊

Lovely stuff! I've found a wonderful skep maker on Etsy (I *will* give it a go myself before this year ends). It's so nice to find passionate individuals, isn't it? Chris has a lovely way with his bees. Very happy to have found him via this forum!

I said I'd update this thread after I'd been to the skep beekeeping course. I attended the course yesterday with Chris Park and it was absolutely above and beyond what I'd hoped. He started with a presentation about skep beekeeping and it's fair to say he's probably one of the best UK experts...

I signed both of mine up for kids beekeeping school for Summer holidays :) They absolutely loved it!

I don't see any reason why someone couldn't ask him on his social media :) I don't watch his programs but hopefully he does talk about it more and give people an insight into unconventional keeping.

I’ve seen log hives with removable frames. But HFW one isn’t one of them (I don’t think). He’ll need stilts. Maybe ask Hugh? 😂
