I've had very low counts too. I was thinking I have managed to breed hygienic bees, and I can make a fortune.... but I suspect the high temperatures might have had something to do with it... despite the homeostasis within the brood nest

It's not impossible to think that they were using the drone comb in the super to raise drones, by putting it below the super, rather than for honey. Or they have made a mistake in ordering and not realised.

I really wouldn't want the job of opening up the packets of dead wasps, and other insects rotting in whatever juice has been used. I can't imagine that they will get too many useful samples. I would have thought a more productive way would have been to trust folk to do initial identification first

Same as a few folk have said, I have changed all my Darlington type underfloor entrance floors to accommodate OA vaporiser, by adding various thickness bits of batons I have had lying around, with no brace comb... so far anyway!
