    Extractor

Most of the replies, and my thought on the matter consider your overall workflow. Consider: The short term. How long does it take to extract, and is this a problem? The longer term: How big are you going to get? Do you have space to store it for 50 or so weeks in the year? , as opposed to a...

Extractors - Conical base V flat

A conical base does get more out quicker, but the other, and perhaps more important reason, is that it reduces the flex in the axis, thus making a stronger affair....

    Beheaded bees

This is shrews. Not mice, as the shrews diet is of insects only. Mice are more herbivorous. The thorax on the bee is eaten as that is where the muscle is mainly. The shrew will pick them off the bottom of the cluster during cold weather . I had it in one hive this year and I also found shrews...

Laurence Edwards' petition to allow the use of the word "Raw" to describe unheated, non-pressure filtered honey.

I would be interested to hear what are the performance measures of Trading Standards and who does one speak to about their (perverse?) decision making? Ive been through the same issue with Liquered Heather Honey.

    Perspex / Polycarbonate Crown Boards

Quite agree BBC. If we use sustainable left over insulation such as sheeps wool loft insulation when we top up our houses, then we can do good and feel good too :) I guess if we see some celotex in a skip too, then its just as well too though. I prefer sheeps wool when I can find it as it packs...

    American foulbrood cleaning and control

I do wish you well. This is not something I've had to deal with ... ever... (50 years of experience). I respectfully believe you should consider preventing, rather than waiting to cure in the future. We now know that bees immune systems are supported through good nutrition. Nutrition which is...
