Had it with one of my hives a few weeks ago.hundreds of dead bees being dragged out of hive.it went on for a few days getting less and less and now seems to have cleared.lots of the bees were black and shiny with abnormal abdomens.had me worried but they are fine now and really strong again.

Fed swarms,nucs and some hives low on stores.quick check in supers to see what needed feed and they were all extremely aggressive.i had lots of stings around one ankle and thought they were going down my welly which isn't unusual but when I got home I saw that the back of my welly had torn apart.

I've just had a batch of queens hatch and the weather looks bad for the foreseeable future.hope we get a good day or two amongst it.

Always had good results with queen right system but not this year so used the system hivemaker mentioned above.it was triple brood with one box mainly pollen frames which I placed in middle underneath the capped brood and grafts. Hopefully I should get some good cells from it.

I had no takes on my queen right system so tomorrow I will try queenless cell starter.

Started yesterday off one of hivemakers queens.will check how many takes later today.plenty of drones now.just need better weather.

Nearly every time i used the ben harden method my bees swarmed. I use queen right strong double brood with queen below excluder and capped brood above.works well for me.

They were ok end of August.the problem seems to have happened later when I wasn't expecting it and not going to the site to inspect.the problem was only at one apiary and the wasps were still robbing In January. Hadn't seen a wasp at my other sites since November.

Lost two so far.wasps were still in and out of them in January.hives emptied of stores.

If I don't put pressure on the gun the brads are always proud.a bit of pressure and they go all the way.

I paid about 25 for a lidl electric nailer.a couple of thousand frames later and it still works like new. Trouble is they only have them in store a couple of times a year.

Yes it is a big difference.here,ponty and glais which is only a mile from drummau are fine.
