Just checked hives on the heather and not too bad considering the weather here lately.stronger hives have 2 full supers .a few weaker hives up there to get them fed and they're really heavy so will save quite a bit in sugar this year.
I've had a queen fly off from mini nuc after marking her.found her in a 5 frame nuc alongside the queen that was already in the nuc.both went through winter and I used one of them for another nuc in the spring.
Had one fly off year before last then found her in a 5 frame nuc 20yards away which already had a new marked mated queen.they let her in for whatever reason and both were still there the following spring.
