Thermomite: a new weapon against varroa

I initially thought the title said Thermite - a new weapon against varrora! The inventor could be in cahoots with the creator of those concrete hives.

    Blowers or patience?

I found this fascinating video where a lady in Japan is displaying great patience alongside using a blower. The care and precision she takes with applying it on a lower setting suggests the blower is being used more to prevent harm/dislocation for the bees rather than for her conveniance...

    Wallabies!

There was an established colony at Harpur Hill near Buxton for a few years. I don't know if they are still going. It can get pretty cold and wet up there.

You'd be wanting a steam roller for that.

The things you can do with a bit of burnt stick

The bull is phenomenal. I wouldn't believe that wasn't a photo if you didn't say so. If I ever won the lottery, I would have to buy that.

    Robert Mark, hold my beer

My grandad did something similar after accidently engaging the PTO and plastered a neighbours house. I was in stiches until I got sent round to clean up the aftermath:LOL:

    Robert Mark, hold my beer

Posting them through their letterboxs helps to jog their memories I've found.

    Robert Mark, hold my beer

At least they are taking it home. I've never understood the mentality of people who are prepared to grab the still steaming lump of playdoe through a flimsy plastic bag but then refuse to bin the thing and leave it in situ!

    Apisolis Instead of smoke

Yeah I can understand that. Playing with the smoker is part of the fun for me  It's not something I'd really consider unless I had several sites away from home perhaps and leave it in the vehicle for when I inevitably forget the smoker.

    Selling candles legally

I remember my Gran gave me the advise when I past my driving test to assume that every other driver on the road was a moron :) It's stood me in good stead.

    Plant Based Honey

I admire inovation but it worries me that people devote their time and resources to something like this. Sounds more energy intensive than natural honey but good luck to them, I hope it turns them a profit.
