    Demaree pick up

Could you explain why? Having no drawn comb I was happy with, I used foundation (and I did leave 2 frames of brood with the queen in the bottom box), and 6 days on they seem to be drawing comb pretty well. Just wondering if I might encounter some problem I've not thought of. I fully accept...

Where's the "like" button? I've read that if you could dig around under Nelson's column you could expect to find skeletons of REAL lions. I think it was a while ago though - maybe an ice age or two

    Keep your eyes peeled

This week's Guardian Week in Wildlife has both a bee collecting pollen from apple blossom (unlike mine, who fly straight out of the orchard to the OSR) and a Bengal tiger reputed to prey on honey hunters. Take care friends http://gu.com/p/47knt

We're all wimps. From a profile of Tony McCoy: >> Trouble started with a bad fall at Worcester in early October. “I punctured my lung, broke a couple of ribs and dislocated my collarbone,” McCoy says as he recites a bleak summary of damage. His fellow jockey Dougie Costello remembers McCoy...

I'm pleased to say I seem to have done no lasting harm. Still a bit sore but got a lot of physical stuff done today. I'm humbled and suitably chastened and forewarned by some of the other stories and advice on this thread. Many thanks I'd just like to comment that I was not handling THAT much...

Great excuse - thanks for the tip (though, to be honest I can get to mine in a Seat Leon with a ground clearance so low it will catch the crown of the road sometimes!) Seriously well done though - I hope the bees appreciate it! not worthy

Mmm. Internally or externally? I live beside a brewery and support them enthusiastically, but have never really taken to whisky. I was given some of this as a Christmas present and thought it was rather good - notwithstanding that it is not malt and it is whiskey not whisky...

Just had a rather alarming twinge while replacing 2 far-from-full supers on the BB. Classic lifting-while-twisting, I guess - the beekeeping equivalent of lifting a child into a car seat. Had to ask SWMBO to finish the job and now feeling rather sore Not the first time in life - though the...
