    Generic Oxalic Solution still available

Or you have to measure small quantities of oxalic crystals, which means better-than-kitchen scales. That was the point where I started to look for someone still selling it. Legislation takes a while to reach rural Wales, it seems :judge:

    Generic Oxalic Solution still available

I was surprised to find a well-known supplier (but not all) still selling generic, pre-mixed Oxalic/sugar solution (as "winter hive care"!). Good for me, but are they technically outside the law? I imagine I am if I use it

    Washing soda

You probably don't want to drink washing soda (sodium carbonate), but it's not deadly. You definitely do not want to even touch caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) with bare skin; it is a highly corrosive alkali which, as implied, causes long-term damage

    Labelling

Cussedness, I suppose :toetap05: Since there is no agreed "loss of bestness" period for honey, it becomes a fatuous action - and actually undermines the validity of best before dates on products that really need it I was seriously advised this week to put 1 year ahead, because that way people...

    Labelling

I'm looking at a BBKA leaflet (2011 I think) that says "For direct sales like farmers markets or sales at the door lot numbers and ‘Best before’ dates are not needed". Is that now (since 2015?) incorrect and therefore must have either (a) both or (b) best before that includes a day of month ...

Threads like this make all the winter bickering on this forum worthwhile. Thanks all I tried the newspaper method but all the propolis make the touch-screen sticky
