Smokeless bee smokers, do they work?

Glad you were able to give it a go. I tend to leave it standing on the largest part of the bellows on a flat surface. I'm not sure if it is designed to be placed the other way round or on its back when not in use. I did see on Facebook that someone had an issue with a resistor being flooded.

Smokeless bee smokers, do they work?

I am sorry you felt the need to post that. When balancing the need to ensure safety for young children and the ability to move or calm bees, I conducted my research and came to a conclusion that suited me and my needs. Recently, I have noticed on here and on Facebook that some individuals seem...

Smokeless bee smokers, do they work?

I have the Apisolis so speaking form experience of both. Reason I purchased mine was due to young children and poly hives so just safer all round. Would it work on 100 hives possibly, however I do think it’s intended for much smaller numbers. The bees move from the Vapor and air it expels...

    Abelo 12 frame

I have been using a solid QE from Thornes that sits on top of the rebate. Easy to remove, sits in the rebate from the box above and no bending. I found the metal one that comes from Abelo not the easiest to remove or install without disturbing the bees. Again loads of choice but this is where I...

    Affordable bee suit

I purchased the AGS 3-layer ultra-ventilated suit for my wife. She used it a couple of times towards the end of last year; however, she found the cuffs to be excessively large, resulting in loose elastic and gaps around her wrists. Subsequently, I obtained some gaiters for her, thus resolving...

    Apisolis Instead of smoke

Back to original post. I think there is a place for all the different types of smokers mentioned. I have my kids 3y and 5y help me. The thought of a hot smoker with them and a poly box is not ideal. However the apisolis for them is perfect. It keeps them part of it and I have no concerns over...

Apiary with 240v overhead power line

Hello All, I am after some real world advice on positioning hives within an Apiary that has an over head power line. The power line is a standard village type cable that supplies houses with 240v and is insulated in plastic. A single cable spanning from pole to pole. As you can see from the...

    One handed queen catcher

Thank you all for your comments. It seems it’s not well known but has been maybe seen by others. I will also look at the Crown of thrones for a comparison.

    One handed queen catcher

Hi all, I am new to beekeeping and have taken this year as a learning year (thankfully) with great education and practical support from a neighbour and local association. I had a question that they were unable to answer confidentiality so I thought I would also ask it here. We were working...
