    Wood burning stove for garage

Thank you Gilberdyke John for the advice.... There is plenty of ventilation into the garage, the main doors have a gap underneath them... You may have hit a part of the problem on the head re the chimney. Half the "rise" of the chimney is inside the garage. The outside part rises approx 3 ft...

That spring is "issued" from Rhondda No. 2 (rider) coal seam.. The same coal seam in Tylorstown also has spring "issue".. First snow of the season

In late'65 I was sent on a short detachment out to Malayar to help repair a Belvedere helicopter. It was stranded out in the "wilderness". So I was given a 303 rifle to take out with me, but no ammo... When I was " briefed pre opp" by the the RAF Regiment SNCO, he looked at my rifle and passed a...

    First snow of the season

I was on leave over Christmas '63 when I was stationed at RAF Locking, WSM. My home village (Maerdy RCT) was completely cut off. I had to walk, carrying my kit bag, down to Porth approx 6 miles, caught a train to Cardiff. The Severn Tunnel was closed. So had to take a train to Bristol via...

    First snow of the season

I remember the winter of 1947.. We lived in a mining village in the top end of the Rhondda Fach.. The snow on the roads was over 24 inches thick. The older lads made a "fortress" wall across the road complete with watch towers..

    They're ALIVE ;)

I have been wrapping my hives in the same bubble wrap for 7 years, I used it originally to line my glass house in late winter/early spring to start off my tom plants. So it is now well over 20 years old and is still looking good.

JamezF..... Some years ago I was having the same problem with the garlic cloves, I also thought it was mice. Was told by a a fellow "allotmenteer" that it was the birds pulling them up, thinking the tops are worms. I now plant them so the tops are covered. Have had no problems since. Also works...
