Time to go Electric… 12 frame extractor recommends.

Our has to go in the spare bedroom then back out as soon as it's performed. Scratched paint all the way up the stair walls. Staircase varnish tinted blue from the language.

Collapsed super comb with wired foundation: bottom wire lugs nailed?

Its the wired ones that fail for me while the FL ones seem to be more robust. Perhaps the bamboo doesn't act like cheesewire. This year for the first time we had to harvest early because theres OSR around in the area (probably Putin's fault) Got everything really warmed in advance and didn't...

    Comb honey/Foundationless frames

Some of mine were lazy-no more than bamboo skewers up through the bottom bars and pressed into the toolbar with the snap out still in place. Blob of D4 to finish Bees didn't care a bit and drew some lovely combs which have been through brutal extraction cycles countless times

The nbu also recommended a 2%bleach solution. It's antiviral and antibacterial. But the mere mention of the word has some folk chewing the upholstery. So other products are suggested ie Milton They are mostly based around sodium hypochlorite. (Bleach)

With a 64 you could just throw the box in as well.

Not if you just have half a super to extract

What would you do? Advice please.

If you choose to euthanize(feral bees aren't much of a loss) All the kit can be sterilized Stores can be harvested separately Burn the frames as extra precaution.

    Rendering beeswax

I let the birds pick off the pupae and hose out the larvae before rendering -I think the brood soaks up the molten wax water robbing the net weight. Id run it through again and see if you can improve it-nothing to lose

    Crown board feed holes

Mine all have crownboards(no holes whatsoever) and 4" of kingspan under the roof 365 dpy They all have an OMF without a tray all year too. They draw in and expel whatever they choose,I don't get involved and we all get along just fine.

What was the swarm control specifically? Suspend the broodbox well off the ground with the floor removed to allow the infected bees to drop out without infecting more.

    Scent

Swmbo has her hair tinted and will get arbitrarily attacked quite often I have pulled all mine out and dont. I find the latest batch of marigolds harbour stings just like leather gloves and you soon get little lynch mobs needling your fingertips.

I have to turn the back leg of my 12f inside out to get it through one doorway Minor mod done to make that a rapid swap

MAKE SURE YOUR BEES ARE HYDRATED IN THIS HEAT!

Snake oil with added nitrates The association puts out scaremongering messages-often about starvation in June Newbies won't read the bit about actually checking before panicking and flood the hive with syrup.

Ditto - no sharp edges and no issues Built like a errm -tank Mine has the retro fit tangential screens. That would just get under the budget in today's money .I'm glad I got mine when I did  It doesn't hurt to overbuy with a view to future proofing but you can always sell it on for a bit...

How do I separate a double brood with chimneying brood comb?

BBS box on top of TBS box? End panel set up for metal runners that are missing (or not and theve been added)? Definitely a beespace issue. Dont worry about the separation -we will always do some destruction disturbing the hive. But it really needs investigation before re use

Unless you're desperate for bees ,sieve and shake out.

    lost swarms

".....what has gone wrong?" Nothing! Did you really need excessively swarmy DNA in your apiary? ;)

What have you done in the honey room?

The swearing increased in direct proportion to the increasing stickiness. Choosing the hottest and most humid day so far to have all doors and windows shut was a masterstroke. Swmbo wisely went shopping. I've got to repeat all this in August as well.
