    Starvation warning ⚠️

A common over reaction is reading the headline, panicking and whacking a full rapid feeder on without checking the status first and then crippling available brood space. Btw if you look at the gauge once in a while you don't run out of fuel.....

    Under floor entrance.

I made some nuc floors with frontal ufe's and they appear to work really well with no wasps found inside the boxes However I will have to revisit the design as I made no provision for detachable easily sterilizable components. After an albeit mild cbpv outbreak I take no chances anymore.

Apiary with 240v overhead power line

Don't mention ley lines or James will be chewing the upholstery,but..... Without realising it I placed the majority of my bait hives along a similar feature and they get hit more than the ones away from it. As a pup I had a summer job with a farming contractor and one job was silaging the...

    Starvation warning ⚠️

They should qualify it a little more as new keepers can just read the headline and over react. Ivy is only just around the corner.

bees refusing to leave the super for clearing

There are loads of designs -around it's up to the Beeks personal preference Anything other than porters will work fine as long as there are lots of exits and, like Jbm says, the bees have a good enough incentive to descend. I bought a lorry load of rhomb(i) in a B.E. sale and didn't want to cut...

Feeding Brace comb back to the bees

No problem if it's from disease free sources but you sometimes find they reconstruct the material back into comb within the feeder

    Attempted Hive Thefts

Your hives may well be visible on Google earth-mine are. The latest break in near my apiary was at a stables. Nothing of equestrian nature other than the contents of the drug cabinet were taken but all the power tools ,chainsaws etc were gone. Oddly the quad bike was wheeled out into the yard...

    Making fondant/candy

It was probably a syrupy fingerprint that initiated it in my case I don't use the MM feeders now-just stack a super with fondant

I've had them attempt to chew through a polynuc feeder.

Combining 2 hives in the same apiary

You will have already left a good number of flying bees when you dismantled the hive. They will find alternative accommodation themselves.

    Making fondant/candy

There's plenty of recipes to Google and it's a handy thing to have if you get caught short But material and energy costs put it on, at best, level pegging with commercial stuff. If you factor in your time, the scalding, and the scolding when the kitchen is a United Nations disaster zone then it's...

    Hi from Durham

If at first you don't succeed, then they're not worth messing with unless you've nothing better to do.
