I haven't done a lot of splitting myself but those numbers seem very ambitious. I'm hoping to split myself next year but I was thinking more along the lines of just doubling up the numbers.

I think mine was caused by lots of ear infections. I was having 2 or 3 a year at one point. I keep clean and never use ear buds. I just seem to be prone to them. Bloody painful. Feels like someone is pushing a red hot power in your ear

I took around 2 and a half deeps resulting in about 70 12oz jars of honey. I started up again this year after a short break with a nuc in April. I caught a swarm in June that grew very quickly and produced its own super of honey. Not bad results considering. I am looking forward to expanding...

I've never produced cut comb (not really sure where/how to store it before selling) but if I did, I'd do it foundation-less also. It's my understanding that the hives have to be perfectly level otherwise the comb follows gravity while the frame is off at an angle. Is this correct?
