    I’m on my way!

Yeah it’s hard to see. It’s a still from a video My friend sent me. They are more than it looks like. Nothing sweet and no water source in fact my friend was going in to water her plants when she found them.

There are more further up the pole

    I’m on my way!

    They’re very slow and docile.

    I’m on my way!

More than I’ve ever seen before. Not like the big swarms you see on bee videos but a fair few

Brilliant! Do they need old comb/frames in?

Oh that’s interesting! Fingers crossed then!

Oh yes I plan to. On the off chance I’m not there, there are always people around who will call me if it gets any interest. The first whiff of a bee will have me sitting nearby waving ping pong paddles, ATC- like, directing them in.

So if I bought a bait hive and put it up high, about 20 yards from my actual hive, and I was lucky enough to catch a swarm, I could still transfer it to the main hive? That would be good as I’ve got plenty of trees/telegraph poles* to put a bait hive on but it’s tricky to get my main hive up...

Great thanks! That was my hunch but I got to second guessing myself. The guy who uses the office caught me just as I was leaving, going “There’s a honeybee in my office!” and seemed a bit deflated when I said “Ooh hopefully it’ll find my hive!” and it wasn’t til I got halfway home that it...

*I just accept the successes and forget about the failures/omissions* I think that’s pretty much the basis for all woo 😄

How important is this? I was talking to a beekeeper and she reckoned that if you pop a swarm into a new hive at night they orient to it fine the next day regardless of where they were caught. Also - I’m hoping to catch a swarm. Yesterday there was a honeybee in the office near my hive. Would...

The ideomotor effect is definitely real.

See, I am a complete sceptic about anything “woo” but I’d absolutely love a reason to believe any of it 😁 I remember seeing a programme on dowsing. When - inevitably - they all failed when tested properly, one old boy reckoned it was God having a laugh 😀

Re: diseases - I put it in the freezer for two days (she advised me to), would that help at all?

*plenty of apocryphal evidence that bees are attracted to sites where energy lines intersect* Whoa! Really?? 😮
