OA. How much mite drop do you get?

My highest drops seem vaguely to be in the most prolific colonies 🤷‍♂️ I did 10 vapes last year - glad I have a huge stock of OA!

OA. How much mite drop do you get?

I've just done my third vape, the 5 day mite drop after the second is 100s, maybe 1000+, way too many to count. I had the same last year and after a long course of OA vapes there was still quite a few, though i had no winter losses at all apart from one that had been dwindling for a while...

What to do with old brood frames full of honey

I recently extracted some super frames i suspect are nearly 30yrs old - I think i should dispose of them this year, the wood is very dark & seems brittle!

AKA an uninteruptible power supply (UPS), been around for decades. Easy to find a small one that will run a router for a while. E.G. https://www.eaton.com/gb/en-gb/catalog/backup-power-ups-surge-it-power-distribution/eaton-3s-mini-ups---emea.html BT will also sell you one for about £70.

    Car keys with buttons.

Different pocket? eg small "coin" pocket on a pair of jeans so it doesn't share with other objects. I also have a spare key battery in the car just in case.

    Pallet Wrap

I cover super stacks with wheelie bin liners, one upwards then one downwards after adding a tray with some 80% acetic acid in an empty super on top. The whole thing is then wrapped up in pallet wrap. B&Q sell it, I think they call it stretch wrap. The acetic acid still manages to dissipate slowly!

If you have a traditional bt landline they are moving to a digital system, so essentially it will  all be voip after everyone is changed. They give you a new router, and your existing phone (or base station if you have existing wireless handsets) plugs into the back of that. I suspect that is...

    Oxalic acid

Yes that sounds unpleasant and could be hazardous potentially. But tipping from one container to another doesn't seem to get it airborne. I wouldn't suggest vigorously brushing though.

    Oxalic acid

That happened to me on a recent purchase. The box was twice the height of the tub & no padding so probably turned the right way up from upside down, dropping the tub onto a hard surface. Just poured & swept the rest into another container - it's not dusty! On the bright side when I told the...

There's a good argument for one on a router if you have a landline on BT's "digital voice" where the phone plugs into the router and gives you no landline in a power cut.

There are a few available, here's another, tempted myself. https://timerrealy.com/smart-wifi-circuit-breakers/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwpP63BhDYARIsAOQkATbSTmIv8lBduxAJroGER9RseyePrj3WRvrsPoi7AUTN0hwz5jaF26gaAjMIEALw_wcB

Of course if you could remotely switch off the circuit supplying your router you may need a UPS on the router!

    Recycling brood wax?

Those tins look like the ones I get air rifle pellets in - also useful to keep a crown-of-thorns/Baldock cage in.

Not really as losses in the high tension lines eg pylons are much lower proportionally, relatively low current due to high voltage and it's the current and resistance which determines the losses rather than the voltage. This is why they use HT. The load on an individual substation may be an...

If you just want to monitor a few individual appliances a lot of smart sockets provide this, either the wall mounted or plug in types.

Some appliances are voltage sensitive. Current depends on voltage & resistance/impedance. Excessive resistance in the supply lines will reduce voltage at the consumer, more with increasing current draw due to higher losses (heating) in the supply lines.

Seems unlikely/impossible. The meter does exactly that - it meters the current flow (and probably voltage) to determine the electricity going to the consumer unit. The consumer unit then feeds multiple circuits in the house. The only way I can see an issue is if there is a problem with your...

    Dumb meter, dumb company

I bet they replace with a meter that has been removed to fit a smart meter rather than a new one, so the "end of life" thing could still happen. That said most of the more extreme end of this thread is dealt with by my approach of "Don't attribute to malevolence that which can be easily...
