Amm / Native Black Bee Discussion

I've always thought the very easiest way to keep quality really high in queen rearing is to ruthlessly cull anything slightly sub optimal at every stage of the process, well done cgf!

    Danger of honey adulteration

Take the hit, feed continuously while raising cells, if the frames get honey/syrup bound swap them for empties and use the full one for nuc building, thats what I do anyway.

    Too late to vape?

So yesterday I fired up the smoker for the first time in a long time to take a peak at a few colonies to assess the value of an oxalic vape at this stage in the game. Sales irritations

    Beeswax block packaging

My favourite use of beeswax, new to me and not on that list, occurred two winters ago when some lads bought all my beeswax blocks from ghe stall, and an hour or so later came back and bought every bit of beeswax I had left, including candles. It turns out they were waxing the runners on their...

    Getting creative with wax!

I have a few well to do customers who often spend ~£30 on fresh candles to set the table for guests, no skin off my nose! But I do wonder if the half burned candles get chucked in landfill, maybe a returns policy might work.

    Getting creative with wax!

Made a few for market the other day and the best sellers are no doubt the long straight ones done in glass molds, all sold out!
