Hive with brood frames filled with honey...

i'd swap some more honey bound frames at the 1st brood box below with the extracted combs, so the queen got some more space to lay. then i'd prob just leave the brood box as super as the 2 supers above are half full now so they need more space to store food again for summer crop.

I made 100 supers and 75 brood, I got 1 or 2 snapped side bars but I glued it back and put screws/nails to repair (could have just dumped it) and had used into the hives. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk

Ah, it was extracted Monday night, and following day I was rushing off to work on Tuesday morning and hence just lifted lid and crown board quickly and placed it above to let the bees clean it. And then Wednesday, Thursday was bad weather in London, today Friday working again and weather looks...

Hive with brood frames filled with honey...

Thanks guys, I had extracted the top honey bound brood box and got 12 kg of honey, 21% but I poured in a few buckets and left in my airing cabinet and the water evaporated to 19%. Gonna jar up this evening. Extracted frames placed back to hive above supers, and this weekend the plan is to move...

    Turning my hive

I have no choice. But to place them side by side about 1.5 feet apart from one another. But I intend to put a partition between the 2 hives. Is that OK as well? Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk

hi guys, sorry forgot to mention the bottom brood box had got some brood, i spoken to some chaps of my local association they said it could be that the colony is not happy with the queen, and is hence trying to do a round of supercedure. as i had destroyed the 2 queen cells, i'm gonna...

Hi guys, strange dilemma I have here. I have a double brood box hive, recently requeened on its own with 2020 mated queen. Mated around 2nd of June when I saw first signs of eggs. Today 14th June I saw 2 queen cells with queen that is just about emerging. Top brood box is full of capped...

Encouraging bees to Draw out supers

OK got it, I am still a greenhorn at this and quite excited to get started hence the enquiry. I had prepared 8 super boxes and used about 4 which are now on the 2 main colonies, just prepping the others for the swarm colonies now. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk

Encouraging bees to Draw out supers

Oh they still have about 1 more brood frame to draw out at the bottom brood box , after that, all bottom 11 frames will be drawn. In terms of bee quantity, I'd say its about 8 to 9 frames of bees full in a 11 frame national box. With quite alot of capped brood currently so they are u due to...

    queen laying multiple eggs question

Yeah go easy, I mistaken a newly mated queen who is on first day on her job laid multiple eggs and chucked them out as advised by mentor. Felt so bad after that. Its probably not laying worker because for laying worker to appear, ur hive need to be queenless for quite a while before they...

Encouraging bees to Draw out supers

I had also been told to put a few frames of supers in the brood box and let the bees draw them out, afterwhich move these partial supers to the top super box so bees are familiar with partial drawn supers and draw out the rest after that. Just thought what other ideas out there to encourage...
