You learn something everyday, apparently then mine is a rafter square!

There will be people on here who have probably made hundreds but for me the easiest way was a pair of sash clamps and a set square. Quick and easy that way and just personal preference I use gorilla wood glue for anything like this, good applicator built in and seems a little thicker when applied.

Yes, branch is out and 5 frames in. Additional gear is being delivered tomorrow...so more assembling!

Thanks, they have just stopped flying and calmed down and I have put them in a full shade area approx 6 feet from where the new hive will go.

Well not textbook but the swarm is in there temp home. So cleared all the branches round it but the swarm was literally at the top of my reach......so cut the branch a bit whilst holding it and snap! So world record ladder descent and the bees are on the floor...grabbed their temp home and laid...

Now for round 2, following the advice from Pargyle I have made a temp home for the swarm until the proper gear arrives. Unlike the first swarm though this one is 12 foot up a tree in the middle☹️

Just had another look and what was 1 swarm is now clearly separating into 2 in the tree! So do I gear to collect 2 more swarms or is this still just one?

That makes sense, so am I right in presuming that I should now only have 1 queen left in the hive? So I can order a second hive etc and it will be here Tuesday and catch this swarm and put it in there. In the meantime just leave the existing hive for a few days as it only has 1 queen in it. I...
