    The way I understand it is you just uncap sections of it say once a month as you dont want to remove all the drone brood in one go.

    Hi, andy-glide, As a fellow newbee, I have seen super frames used like that as away of controling varroa during the honey season theory being varoa prefer drone brood, so you uncap those cells and remove larvae the varoa will be visible.if I am wrong someone will be along with more knowledge.

    Another question, assuming the remaining bees are still there and we manage to catch them will they be accepted by the main swarm if we leave them on the doorstep or should we do a newspaper unite with them?? Thanks

    Going to go back this morming to see if they moved in to skep we left behind, will also take nuc box with frames and lemon grass oil as I believe it might attract the stragglers :rolleyes:

    We were supposed to go for practical HM clipping and marking, raining again so cancelled. Weather broke in afternoon so decide to do inspections, united one weak with a strong colony.looking at second hive and find unmarked Hm. Tools for clipping etc only just arrived from T*****s, gulp:eek: now...
