How do folks do it? Last year, the few drawn frames I did got a bit of a hit from wax moth. This year I am putting them in a big sealed plastic bag. do members have any advice re medication in between them. e.g. Newspaper, etc... Just starting to get a few drawn and really dont want to start...

All my colonies are 3rd / 4th generation Norton. All as calm and prolific as the 1st. Still early days in my beekeeping, so not so sure about their honey production (element of beekeeper dependancy here), and swarming tendancy, (had a bit of a time of it with Rape) I did raise several Q,s off...

how many hives would 4 acres take?

A mate of mine has asked me to take a hive or two to his 4 acres of sun flowers. Has anyone had any experience of them? Is it worth it?

Hi, I made one out of an old WBC.lots of shreaded cardboard on the bottom, damp, then layers of old veg. I think the trick is not to put too much veg in at once. The expensive bit was the "Tiger Worms" off the net. Buzz

4 frames of brood You need to have enough bees to cover the brood and keep it warm, feed the lavae, bring in forage etc. How many full frames of bees do you have? Is there any abnormality in the brood pattern? How old is the queen? These are a few factors affecting spring build up
