    prizing supers appart

Scrape off the propolis from the joints. That's what one end of most hive tools is for. Look at hive tools some are strait some are angled. Scrape off top and bottom you'll find it easyer to part them next time but leave it long and its like super glue. Your ply seems better because it's more...

    Labels

You can use as many as you like as long as the label is correctly batch numbered with all the other legalities met. You can't mix two batches with the same batch number. A batch is a bucket or any other container as big or small as you like with one run of honey bottled from the same container...

    Can bees manage themselves

I have bees and I know for a fact they throw the mites off each other. They clean each other but every brood cycle I get thousands to replace them. I treat my dog for fleas and treat my bees for varroa. Its a case of responsibility for your stock. I want my stock to be healthy and happy. If that...

    Can bees manage themselves

A treatment costs less than a jar of honey anyway

    Can bees manage themselves

I get told of people keeping bees treatment free for years without I'll effects. Do I believe them? Not a whole apiary no. No ill effects? No I don't believe them. Try getting nits and not treating it for a month and tell me you have no ill effects. Bees get varroa all bees an I'd like to bet it...

    Feeding now

But in the wild we wouldn't have took a crop so would have plenty of honey before ivy. Does it contribute towards disentry and isolation starvation?

It's definitely had more than five supers worth. I'm averaging two supers. So it's more than double my average per hive. The queen will get marked red and five hives with her queen cells in next year to test them

I have no reason to lie I have hives that have struggled to get two supers. Its a buckfast colony it's been my best ever hive and it's not huge but they are out performing every hive I have by far and have been all year

They were hanging out the front today waiting to get in 😂 so it probably needs four broods and the brood boxes still full of capped brood. It's rammed but no queen cells

Two broods for queen and a brood n super for honey. The bees fill three broods. I've already extracted once got two broods and a super so far. The brood is being capped and super nearly full. Oh and I'll get some capped frames out the brood boxes when done and replace the frames. When one is...

    Hive Alive

My take is it helps I've used it five years and I think it's a good product but I think that's down to the thymol in the product. It's expensive though so I'm making my own from thymol and lemongrass next year
