yeah I saw the 12oz jars. This is the second year I have had the bees but didnt harvest last year as I wanted them to get established. It seemed to work.

thanks all I never thought of the local BKA which is probably the first thing I should of thought of. Suppose it makes sense in the long run to buy more than I need

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but what does anyone think is the best place to buy jars. Im only a hobby beekeeper so dont want to buy in bulk cheapest i have seen is 60p a jar but this goes up to about a £1 with delivery

Hope you got it I'm in Sheffield and they are a pain people feed them as if they are pets and draw them inner city.

I think your right about travelling to get bees I have the hive all set up. Just need bees. Let me know if you here anything and I will do the same

thanks Phillisb Im in the ecclesfield area. It is difficult finding anyone who will commit to sell. I have the set up but there doesn't seem an 100% commitment just we'll wait and see. The guys at the sheffield beekeeping association are good I think its worth joining as we'll need the support...

Thanks Jezd. The hive turned up today i'm going to build it at the beggining of next year I cant see the point of exposing an empty hive to the elements. To be honest I researched half way through this year and the only things I could find where east riding bee keepers and Sheffield Hallam Uni...

I definatley think I need the practical experience and it would be good to get to meet people who are keeping bees so I can learn from them
