I carried out a split that produce a good size queen looks like she has been laying for a week or so. There are a quite number of capped drone brood cells with a few capped worker cells and lots of eggs Should I get rid of her or give her another week or so
I'm just about to make a couple of nucs up theres no obvious sign of mites in the main hive but is it worth putting a OA strip in the nucs that I make up.
No for some reason iv been unable to log into the site until yesterday so did not see the replies from other people. Will give it a go next time as I did have a few in the middle that didn't look the best. Luckily some good eggs at the bottom. Just need her to hatch and get mates fingers crossed
Hi all I need advice again. I have a hive that is queenless I found the queen on the floor a few weeks ago, iv checked to see if there is a new queen but no signs. While I'm awaiting the delivery of a new queen how do I stop them producing laying workers.
Iv just found my marked last years queen dead on the floor outside the hive. Iv not looked in the hive as yet any thoughts on what has happened and should I open the hive or leave it for a while thanks
