    14 x 12 hives....is it such a problem

I've had 14x12 and standard nationals for years. Personally prefer the flexibility of the standard national but tend to run down on double brood. Very easy to make splits, nice size for queens here in sunny London and easy for swarm control. However that said we have one site with only 14x12...

Quick way to fill up small jars

Thank you all, some great ideas there. Would love the swienty but doubt very much I can justify this to the Mrs. Those pumps seem like they might do the trick and are nice and cheap so worth a try. Thanks again. Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

Quick way to fill up small jars

Hi all, Need to fill up hundreds of small 1oz jars as gifts. I did this last time using a jug and was painfully slow. The normal tap on a honey bucket is not really suitable for just small jars. Any suggestions please? Thanks. Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

    AS In the rain?

As per Eyeman would go with the snelgrove 2 method. Here is a link to the doc by Wally Shaw http://www.wbka.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Swarm-Control-Wally-Shaw.pdf Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

Stampede in feeder drowning bees is this normal?

I've found the ones I ordered from thornes this year much worse. In comparison to the ones from previous years a lot more drowned bees. I assume a manufacturing change. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

Two observations I have not experienced before

Seen some white packed cells today and not used Apiguard. Strong Smell of ivy around the Apiary so assumed this is what it was. Interesting observation Cazza Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

Maisemore Apiary Poly NUC - Disk Q Excluder

Here is part of one of the mails. Great customer service "Sorry there is no refund, the disc is something that we choose to put along with the polystyrene nucs, if you want to buy new discs then that is completely your own choice" One thing I have noticed is their description on the web site...

Maisemore Apiary Poly NUC - Disk Q Excluder

Hi, Just a FYI. Having purchased a number of new Poly Nucs from Maisemore it became apparent the queen excluder entrance on the supplied entrance disk is too small. Does not allow workers through let alone the queen. Unfortunately Maisemore although acknowledging the problem refuse the...
