    Feral colonies Survival 2012/2013

Both feral colonies I know of on the farm died this winter. One in dead elm and one in graveyard, sad to see them gone.

    Your thought

Hello Biggles, just wondered if the epipen is for other allergies or if you keep one for beekeeping emergencies? Just wondering if it is something to have in the medical cabinet?

Almost at the point where any plants per square metre would be considered a crop this season!?

Think it was more to do with specialist honeys foraged from specific plants.

    Foraging Question

Does make sense that they would prefer a downhill journey fully laden. Will probably hold off of using this fact in public then!

    OSR and Warre

I have been looking at the Warre hive but am wondering how you stop/cope with honey crystallizing before extraction with OSR crops? Is it just a case of taking off 'supers' once flowers gone but if so would the next box not be seeded causing problems later in season? Many thanks in advance.

Looking on www saw that cinnamon was being used as a natural repellent so sprinkled ground stuff on top of the sealed crown board and around legs of stand...

    14x12 poly hive?

Going on recommendations to try Modern Beekeeping, I phoned to enquire about 14x12 and as has been mentioned they do not yet supply. That said I thought I would give them a go and cobble something together to fit. I must say that the phone manner, service and speed of despatch has been...

    14x12 poly hive?

Many thanks for the positive replies, it makes purchasing a more comfortable experience. As it happens my existing wooden hives are top bee space, so all the better. I shall be on the phone today to see what they can offer. Thanks again

    14x12 poly hive?

I was wondering if anyone would be able to recommend a supplier of good quality 14x12 poly hives? Have read some recent threads on suppliers that made me a little nervous, and would alway prefer to buy by recommendation. (Thats if this sort of question is allowed?) Thanks in advance
