    waste sugar

Not quite...Buy to Let is still domestic premise so therefore the occupants pay Council Tax. Holiday Lets are where a property is available for short term letting for over 140 days in a year and then you pay Business Rates rather than Council Tax (hence then having to pay trade waste fees)!

    waste sugar

As sugar is a refined product in the first place I don't think you'll have much luck finding an industry where it's a by product!

    any plumbers out there

Hi Pete. Sounds like the 'anti-gravity valve'. Otherwise known as 'back flow protection valve' or 'one way check valve'. Sorry, not near Birmingham so can't help with other query. I always find ScrewFix good though.

    Frame sizes

The weight of a super when full of honey. You could (and some do) use a brood chamber and brood frames for honey storage but the full chamber would be heavy to lift during inspection and extraction. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.411467,-2.606262

    Propolis extract labelling

"dodhy ground, you are not allowed to sell alcohol unless you have a licence, like a pub." True, but you can sell products containing alcohol if they are not classed as a beverage (or other licensed product). For instance, your local DIY store doesn't have an Liquor Licence to sell Methylated...

Hivemakers Thymol recipe (see sticky post)

Surely when you add the 10kg of sugar to the 5L of water you will end up with more than 5L of product? (in fact, just over 10L of product). This would therefore need 10ml of HM Thymol added to it according to his recipe?

    Sugar Prices

Hi Barty. I think that Q has been discussed lots before. I used to think Cane was good and Beet was bad but it seems most think it doesn't matter http://www.beekeepingforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=13042&highlight=Cane+beet

    Is a floor necessary?

Would it not make the hive harder to defend if it had no floor? Free access for wasps and other robbers?

What plant do my bees seem to love?

Thanks everyone. From Googling images it does seem to be Snowberry. They just seem to love it!

    Price of honey......

Surely if it's $2.99 a lb that makes it $6.58 per kg as there are 2.2lb in a kg? That's about £4 per kg in UK. Or am I misunderstanding?

Thymol here, thymol there (and Apiguard)

So Hivemaker, would you recommend Apiguard and Thymolated syrup or just one or the other. It doesn't matter which as I have the apiguard bought but also already have thymol crystals, isopropyl alcohol and lecithin granules sitting in the garage.

Thymol here, thymol there (and Apiguard)

Hello, I'm trying to plan my autumn feeding and treatments (I'm a newbie so this is my first 'end of season' experience). I've bought some Apiguard which I was planning on using before feeding. I had already bought that before I found this site. Since then I have read lots of posts on...

    Super Manipulation

Hello all, having taken on a full colony in a standard national brood box early July I added a super of foundation (first timer so I didn't have drawn comb). They dutifully started drawing it out and then when it was all drawn I jumped a bit early and added a second super (despite reading...

What plant do my bees seem to love?

Hello all, my first post having taken on my first full hive at the start of July...shortly after I found this forum and have spent most waking moments since then trying to read the thousands of posts and absorb as much info as I can! Anyway, I jumped straight into beekeeping by taking...
